Edgar Atkinson, 81, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at his residence in Doniphan.
Mr. Atkinson, son of the late Lonie and Sadie (Robinson) Atkinson, was born July 28, 1928, in Donalsonville, Georgia. He loved animals and farming and had been a carpenter for Lockheed Martin. Mr. Atkinson served in the Korean War with the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was married to Mildred Atkinson in 1994 and she preceded him in death in December, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Gay Mueller and husband, Joe, of Webster, Florida, and Gloria Stubbs and husband, Charles, of Kissimmee, Florida; three sons, Herbert G. Atkinson of Kissimmee, Florida, Lonie Eugene Atkinson of Webster, Florida, and Grady Atkinson of Eustis, Florida; and ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one sister, Edna Atkinson.
Memorial services will take place in Florida with interment to be in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
