Eva Marie Gentry of Doniphan, Missouri, at the age of 97 years, 6 months and 18 days went home to see her Savior on the 12th day of July, 2010. Mrs. Gentry, daughter of the late Luther and Ida (Wertenberger) Hawks, was born December 23, 1912, in Corning, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, flowers and reading her Bible. Mrs. Gentry had been a member of the West Point Pentecostal Church since 1950. She was married to Earl Eugene Gentry on October 8, 1930. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1964. Mrs. Gentry is survived by two daughters, Christine Foster and Myrtle Gentry, both of Doniphan, Missouri; one son-in-law, Delno Gentry, also of Doniphan; nine grandchildren, Claudetta Littrell and husband, Elmer, Dalton March and wife, Debbie, Lynn March and wife, Becky, all of Doniphan, Romona Larson and husband, James, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Reverend Dale Gentry and wife, Sandy, of Chana, Illinois, Brenda Tubbs and husband, Ernie, of Paducah, Kentucky, Reverend Allen Gentry and wife, Marilyn, of Portageville, Missouri, Reverend Bobby Gentry and wife, Della, of Harrisburg, Illinois, Pamela Fielder and husband, Mike, of Franklin Grove, Illinois; and 25 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Also a host of nieces, nephews and friends survive. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two grandchildren, Alden March and Roseann March, four sisters, two brothers and one son-in-law, Kenneth Foster. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, July 14, 2010, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the West Point Pentecostal Church near Doniphan. The funeral service will follow Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the church with Brother Riley March officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
