Lillian May Lange, 89, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, at the Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan. Mrs. Lange, daughter of the late Marvin and Eva (Mills) Swarthout, was born August 18, 1920, in Pinckney, Michigan. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, rock collecting and nature. Mrs. Lange was a member of the Missionary Acres of Greenville. On June 3, 1950, she was married to Foster Lange in Michigan and he preceded her in death on January 11, 1999. Mrs. Lange is survived by three grandchildren; Robert (and Margret) Hines, Edward (and Paula) Hines and Beth (and Timmy) Bridges, all of Doniphan; eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Patricia May Hines, three sisters, Eva, Evelyn and Dorothy and one brother, Stanley Swarthout. Visitation will be Wednesday morning, July 7, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will take place Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Chelsea, Michigan.
