Gladys Irene Piatt, 80 year old resident of Doniphan died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at her residence, in a house fire. Mrs. Piatt was born May 16, 1930 in Kansas to the late Clarence Youngblood and Elsie Mae (Hipple) Youngblood Ohl.
Mrs. Piatt was a retired school teacher and a member of the Doniphan Assembly of God Church.
On March 28, 1972 she was married to Loyd Eugene Piatt in Ripley County, MO. She was previously married to Coy Proctor McGonigal on September 1948, who preceded her in death May 5, 1986.
Surviving is one daughter, Linda Mabary of Baton Rouge, LA.
Mrs. Piatt was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Laymon McGonigal, one daughter, Glenda "Susie" Farrar, and one great grandchild Jason Watt August 5, 1995.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Tackitt officiating. Visitation will Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 5-8 P.M. at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pope Chapel Cemetery.
