Loyd Eugene Piatt, 77 year old resident of Doniphan, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at his residence, in a house fire. Mr. Piatt was born October 17, 1932 and raised by Cal & Sarah Lawhon.
Mr. Piatt worked around Ripley County mowing and maintaining lawns. He was a member of the Doniphan Assembly of God Church.
Mr. Piatt is survived by a brother, George Piatt; and one step-daughter Linda Mabary of Baton Rouge, LA.
He was preceded in death by one step-son Laymon McGonigal and one step-daughter Glenda "Susie" Farrar.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Tackitt officiating. Visitation will Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 5-8 P.M. at Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Pope Chapel Cemetery.
