Melvin Lee Lindsey, Sr., 64, of Doniphan, died Friday June 17, 2011, at St. Louis, MO .
Mr. Lindsey was born on March 20, 1947 in Catron, MO to the late Leonard & Gussie (Lynn) Lindsey. Mr. Lindsey was a farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and spending time with his family. Mr. Lindsey was in the United States Army having served in Vietnam.
On November 30, 1968 in Overland Missouri, Mr. Lindsey married Diane Cupp, who survives.
Other Survivors include two sons Shane Lindsey & Mel Jr (Dana) Lindsey both of Doniphan; one daughter Tanya Price (DJ) of Doniphan; one sister Joyce Mills of Mesa, AZ; four brothers Ray Lindsey and Jeff Lindsey both of Doniphan; Dennis Lindsey of Marine, IL, Fred Lindsey of Bar Harbor, MA and six grandchildren Derek, Jacob, Haley, Ethan, Kaytlin, and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers Ronald Lindsey, Donald Lindsey, & Eugene Lindsey.
Visitation will begin Monday June 20 from 5-8 pm at Edwards Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 21 at 11 AM, at the Edwards Funeral Home with Bro. Kent Harding officiating, burial will have full military honors at Center Hill Cemetery.
