Rube Payne Walker, 86, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Thursday May 20, 2010, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan, Missouri.
Mr. Walker, son of the late Elmer & Effie (Payne) Walker, was born January 3, 1924, in Grandin, Missouri. He was a Boiler Maker and a member of the Oak Grove Church of God.
He married Fay Brown on August 12, 1950 in Pocahontas AR. She survives.
Mr. Walker is survived by one son, Ricky Walker of Pinckneyville, IL; and two daughters Sandra Walker Forker of Wichita Falls, TX & Debra Walker Miles of Bulan KY; one sister Lorrene Faye of Bellville IL and one brother Elmer Clifford Walker of Gatewood, MO; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Tony Walker, one daughter Linda Walker, one sister Irene Smith, & one brother George "Ike" Walker
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel and burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, with the Rev. Hubert Payne officiating.
