Vineyard Dwain Hoefer, 77, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Mr. Hoefer, son of the late H. W. and Gurtrude (Miller) Hoefer, was born November 28, 1932, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a butcher/meatcutter in Beloit, Wisconsin, and was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a former owner of a feedstore in Beloit. Mr. Hoefer loved horses and livestock auctions and was of the Lutheran faith. Surviving are two children; one son, William Dwain Hoefer, and one daughter, Robin Hoefer, both of Beloit, Wisconsin; one sister, Peggy Levada Wright of Doniphan; four grandchildren, Abe Leach of Sikeston, Missouri, and Erika Hoefer, Jessica Hoefer and Kyle Hoefer, all of Beloit, Wisconsin; and a very special friend, Susan Reininger of Capron, Illinois. Mr. Hoefer was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Rebecca Rose Hoefer, and five brothers, Argie Hoefer, Bernard Hoefer, Eugene Hoefer, Welson Hoefer and Max Hoefer. Visitation for Mr. Hoefer will take place on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Doniphan City Cemetery with Brother Kent Wilfong officiating.
