Obituary of William "Bill" Hall

William D. " Bill" Hall, 85, of Winnebago, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Mr. Hall, son of the late Barney Lee and Mary Irene (Hollie) Hall, was born May 11, 1924, in Tunica County, Mississippi. He was employed by Borg Warner before retiring on April 1, 1987. Mr. Hall was a member of First Baptist Church of Machesney Park and the Rockford Masonic Lodge #102. He enjoyed southern cooking and growing his own vegetables. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. On July 1, 1967, he was married to Sylvia E. Miller in St. Louis. She preceded him in death. Surviving are one step-daughter, Debra (Ken) Pearson of Rockford, Illinois; one son-in-law, Warren Brannum of Doniphan; four grandchildren, Dawn (Alan) Inglima of Winnebago, Illinois, Craig Pearson of Rockford, Tia Pearson of Machesney Park and Dana (Steve) Nunez-Rios of Doniphan, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tanner, Sylvia, Katalina and Grace; three sisters, one brother, numerous nieces and nephews and his mess hall buddy, Denny. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one step-daughter, Diane Brannum, two sisters and two brothers. Visitation for Mr. Hall will be Sunday, April 25, 2010, from 2 - 4 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning, April 26, 2010, at the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Danny Miller officiating. A memorial will be established.
