Dora Dolas Kennon, 100, of Doniphan, died February 25, 2010, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Kennon was born February 15, 1910, in Boydsville, Arkansas, to the late Marley & Adgele (Dale) Johnson. She was a housewife who enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She was a member of the Doniphan Church of Christ.
She was married to Dodd Mackley and later in life Thomas T. Kennon both of whom preceded her in death.
Surviving are two sons; Ron Kennon of Doniphan and Jim Kennon of Rockford, IL; five daughters, Willien Kennon of Doniphan, Joyce Mathis of St. Louis, Laverne Armour of Naylor, Rita Keel of Fort Smith AR, and Barbara Nottmeier of St. Louis. Four step-children Homer Kennon of Doniphan, Martha Lueker of St. Charles, Ruth Friend of Paducah KY & Retta Crosson of Raliegh NC. Seventeen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren & step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sons Charles Mackley & Douglas Kennon; two sisters Nellie Mitchel & Gladys Lawson; one brother Doyne Johnson & eight stepchildren, Verna Milum, Alta Wall, Syna Thurman, Rex Kennon, Lowell Kennon, Pershing Kennon, Mary Neil Montgomery & Loyd Kennon.
Visitation will be Saturday February 27 2010, at 11 AM. at Edwards Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday February 27 2010, at1:00 p.m. with Brother Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Hunt-White Memorial Gardens.
