Johnny Martin Lawhon, 73, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday morning, February 16, 2010, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan.
Mr. Lawhon was born June 28, 1936, to Thomas and Vivian (Long) Lawhon. He had worked in maintenance for General Motors. Mr. Lawhon enjoyed woodworking, landscaping and flowers and was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Smiths Grove, Kentucky.
On May 8, 1993, he was married to Dottie Davis in Smiths Grove and she survives.
Also surviving are three children; Frank (Linda) Lawhon of Hillsboro, Missouri, Thomas Lawhon of Arnold, Missouri, and Christina Michelle Lawhon of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two step-children, Shelley (Josh) Long of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Becky (Vernon) Rhodes of Grandin, Missouri; six grandchildren, Amy Lawhon, Jacob Lawhon, Brianna Coleman, Lindsey Roberson, Amber Grubbs and Nathaniel Long; one great-grandchild, Chase Lawhon; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lawhon was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Vivian Lawhon.
Visitation will be Thursday evening, February 18, 2010, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral will take place Friday morning, February 19, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Martin Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Belleview Cemetery.
