Rosalie Givens Alderman, 94, died Sunday, February 14, 2010. Rosalie, who was a native of Mississippi , moved to Doniphan, Missouri, from Hope , Arkansas , in 2003. Rosalie is survived by her husband of 72 years, Edwin Anderson Alderman. Also surviving are her two daughters and their spouses, Linda and Bill Horn of Huntsville , Alabama, and Libby and Randy Benson of Doniphan; five grandchildren, Sharon Horn Wilson and husband Stephen, Mark Edwin Horn and wife Stephanie, Shane Benson and wife Kotona, Andy Benson and wife Jenny, and Leann Benson Finke and husband Garry. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren, Joshua Wilson, Daniel Wilson, James Wilson, Cassie Benson, Chase Benson, Celsie Benson, Haleigh Benson, Avery Benson, Ellie Benson, Caleb Horn, Jacob Horn, Katherine Horn, and David Horn. Mrs. Alderman is also survived by two sisters, Minnie Ruth Alderman of Albuquerque , New Mexico, and Lillian Rogers of Midland, Texas;, and several nieces and nephews. Rosalie's most notable accomplishment was her ministry for more than 30 years in the nursing homes of Hope, Arkansas. She wrote a book about her life and the nursing home ministry called "Take Heart". She also spoke at several churches all over the United States about her ministry. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan with her grandson, Rev. Mark Horn, officiating. Burial will follow at Doniphan City Cemetery.
