Hazel L. Kimberlin, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Monday, February 8, 2010, at The Manor in Poplar Bluff. Mrs. Kimberlin was born January 20, 1919, in Ripley County, Missouri. She, along with some of her sisters, worked for a defense plant in Chicago during World War II making parachute parts and gun sights. Mrs. Kimberlin enjoyed working in the garden, especially with her flowers and loved her pets, a dog and a cat. She was of the Baptist faith. She was married to Woodrow Payne Kimberlin on December 28, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1999. Mrs. Kimberlin is survived by five sisters; Helen Jones of Oxly, Missouri, Vivian Cope of Mumford, Tennessee, Laverne Hillis and Ann Cates, both of Poplar Bluff, and Evelyn Foster of Julesburg, Colorado; one brother, Don Woolard of St. Louis, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin Friday afternoon, February 12, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
