Obituary of Willard Hall

Willard R. Hall, 91 1/2, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Mr. Hall, son of the late Tom and Sarah (Willbanks) Hall, was born July 6, 1918, in Parma, Missouri. He was self-employed in construction, livestock and real estate. Mr. Hall had worked in the CCC Camp and enjoyed bingo, church and religious music. He attended Fairview Baptist Church. On May 6, 1939, he was married to Ruby Ann Johnson at Doniphan. She preceded him in death on February 14, 1992, after 52 years of marriage. Surviving are four daughters; Geneda (and Charles) Smith of Doniphan, Shirlene (and Roger) Lynxwiler of Cabool, Missouri, Wilma (and Rod) Shewmaker of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Carol (and Robert) Birkhead of Doniphan; eleven grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two infant daughters, Karen Sue and Sharon; four sisters, Pearl Niswonger, Minnie Robinson Stout, Thelma Roy and Nora McKinney Rose; one brother, Carl Hall; and his first-born grandson, Thomas Ferguson, with whom he had a special bond. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, February 10, 2010, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral will take place Thursday, February 11, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Larry Cockman officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
