Obituary of Peggy Williams

Peggy Laverne Williams, 72, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mrs. Williams, daughter of the late Leonard and Janie (Wilson) Smith, was born November 28, 1937, in Ripley County, Missouri. She had been employed at Vitronic Manufacturing, Inc. for many years and later in life worked as a caregiver. Mrs. Williams was an active member of the V.F.W. Post #3485 Ladies Auxiliary and had served as District #15 Sr. Vice President with the organization. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Doniphan and enjoyed traveling and being on Current River.
On June 26, 1955, she was married to Harold Williams in Ripley County, Missouri, and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Tamatha Williams of St. Louis; one granddaughter, Stormie Williams of St. Louis; and one sister, Ruth Allcock of Mapleton, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers; William Howard Smith, Albert "Pete" Smith and David Smith.
Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be Monday evening, January 18, 2010, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Tuesday morning, January 19, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
