Roy Borth Obituary

Roy Borth died December 29, 2009 at his residence in Doniphan, MO. Mr. Roy was born in Venice, Illinois on January 1st 1926. He served in World War II in France and Germany, and was a lifetime member of the Doniphan VFW Post #3485. He retired from Granite City Steel in 1982 after more than 33 years of service. He married Charlene Tillman in April 8, 1954 in Madison, Illinois. Together they have two sons Chuck & wife Terri of Edwardsville, IL and Ron & his wife Susan of St. Jacob, Illinois and one daughter Diane & husband Kenny Hart of Doniphan. Mr. Roy is survived by his wife , children, 3 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Roy is preceded in death by his parents Roy & Irene Borth, three brothers Tommy, James, and Floyd, and two sisters Violet Moore and Alice Tillman. Roy was an amazing man, who was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed music, dancing, carving animals from peach seeds and deer hunting and fishing and playing cards with his grandchildren. He will be forever missed. Visitation will be Wednesday December 30 from 5-8 pm at Edwards Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held December 31 at 9 am at Edwards Funeral Home, inc. with Bro. Hubert Payne officiating. Burial will be in New Hope cemetery.
