Buelah Harkey, 83, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at her residence.
Mrs. Harkey, daughter of the late Alonzo and Lillie (Letner) Kennedy, was born October 18, 1926, in Hollywood, Missouri. She was retired from Vitronic Manufacturing. Mrs. Harkey attended the Church of Christ and enjoyed watching westerns and doing crafts.
On September 12, 1942, she was married to Dave Harkey in Paragould, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on September 7, 1968.
Surviving are one daughter, Brenda (and Charlie) Johnson of Doniphan; two sons, Don Harkey and David Harkey, both of Doniphan; one sister, Eula Keys of Forks, Washington; one brother, Roy Kennedy of North Carolina; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Bud Kennedy, and two infant siblings.
Visitation for Mrs. Harkey will be Thursday evening, December 10, 2009, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Friday morning, December 11, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Doniphan with Brother Elijah Waddell officiating. Burial will be in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
