Bonnie Betty Jean Haney, 69, lifetime resident of Doniphan, Missouri, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mrs. Haney, daughter of the late Vernal and Lola (Morlan) Rosson, was born April 24, 1940, in Doniphan, Missouri. She was a housewife. A member of Handy Union Church, Mrs. Haney enjoyed church singing, volunteering and having her family around. On December 16, 2001, she was married to Jonathan (John D.) Haney and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Betty McCarthy of St. Louis, Missouri, and Tammie Hays of Harviell, Missouri; two step-daughters, Kim Stevens of Doniphan and Sarah Kubus of Iowa City, Iowa; three sons, Frank Somers of St. Louis, Missouri, Ron Somers of Garden City, Kansas, and Harvey Somers of Harviell, Missouri; two step-sons, John A. Haney of Doniphan and Scott Macey of Louiston, Idaho; eight grandsons, six granddaughters, one great-grandson, two great-granddaughters; and one brother, J. C. Rosson of Benton, Kentucky. Many relatives, friends and her Handy Union Church family of Handy, Missouri, also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation for Mrs. Haney will be Wednesday evening, December 9, 2009, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will take place Thursday morning, December 10, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Handy Union Church in Handy with Brother Bob Featherston, Brother Jim Probst and Sister Sharon Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Handy Cemetery.
