Obituary of Shirley Walters

Shirley Dale Walters Shirley Ann Walters, 72, lifelong resident of Bardley, Missouri, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Walters, daughter of Artie (Williams) Delana and the late Richard Delana, was born October 16, 1937, in Alton, Missouri. She had been a ward clerk at Ripley County Memorial Hospital for over thirty years. Mrs. Walters was an outdoors person and loved swimming, fishing, Eleven Point River trips and playing bingo. She was a member of the Twin Pines Pentecostal Church and also attended Oak Ridge Church of God. Mrs. Walters was an avid animal lover and especially enjoyed her two dogs, Stretch and Angel. She was married to Cecil Allen Dale on June 23, 1957, at Hernando, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1971. Surviving are one son, Rick and (Cretia) Dale of Bardley; one daughter, Kim and (Don) Johnson of Bardley; one grand-daughter, Cecily Dale of Bardley; and her mother, Artie Delana of Thayer. She was preceded in death by her husband and her father. Visitation for Mrs. Walters will be Sunday, November 15, 2009, at noon at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother J.W. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Bardley Cemetery
