Obituary of Blake Elkins

Blake "Buster" Elkins, 87, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away September 28, 2009, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
Mr. Elkins, son of the late R.H. and Pearl (Blake) Elkins, was born June 18, 1922, in the Briar community of Ripley County, Missouri.
Mr. Elkins worked on the family farm near Doniphan until retiring to south Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, W.R. "Bill" Elkins, his wife, Peggy Keeney Elkins and a grandson, Robert Wayne Elkins.
Survivors include two sons, Robert B. "Bobby" Elkins and wife, Pam, of Doniphan; Andrew "Andy" Elkins of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; three daughters, Melanie Mobley and husband, David, of Doniphan; Ruth Calloway and husband, Carl, of Grady, Arkansas; and Sondra Dampier of West Monroe, Louisiana; five grandsons, two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.
Staff Sgt. Rodney Calloway, USAF, grandson, will perform the service.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, which will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. with burial at the Doniphan Cemetery.
