Mary Howard, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Thursday, September 3, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Howard, daughter of the late Robert and Pearl (Youngblood) McAntire, was born February 15, 1924, in Potosi, Missouri. She was a housewife and attended Doniphan Church of God. Mrs. Howard enjoyed crocheting and sewing. On June 22, 1949, she married Clarence Howard in Mineral Point, Missouri. He preceded her in death in November, 2001. Survivors include two sons, Ernest Howard and his wife, Barbara Jean, of Gillespie, Illinois, and George Howard of Coffeen, Illinois; three daughters, Barbara Sellers and her husband, Keith, of Canyon City, Colorado, Rosemary Byrd of Poplar Bluff and Kathleen Reed and her husband, Robert, of Oxly, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Elnore Buckholtz and Virgie Hiles, one son-in-law, Richard Hiles, three brothers, Bob McAntire, Davis McAntire and David McAntire, and two sisters, Daisy McAntire and Lucille McAntire; one granddaughter, Mary Ann Howard, one great-grandson, Robert Spiers and one great-granddaughter, Krystal Hiles. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday evening, September 6, 2009, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will be held Monday morning, September 7, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Rick Willard officiating. Burial will be in the Hunt-White Cemetery.
