Deloris Marian Dalton, 75, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Dalton, daughter of the late John and Florence "Flossie" (Huff) Sybert, was born July 28, 1934, in Highland, Illinois. She was former Ripley County Assessor, Ripley County Circuit Clerk and Recorder and Ripley County Clerk and was employed by T. L. Wright Lumber Company in Doniphan. Mrs. Dalton was an active member of the Republican Women's Group and the Doniphan High School Class of 1953 Reunion Committee and was a former member of Eastern Star, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the County Clerk and Recorder's Association. She enjoyed gardening, family vacations, Bingo and history, particularly that of Ripley County. She especially loved being with her family. She was married to Louie Dalton and he preceded her in death in 1967. Mrs. Dalton is survived by two sons, Don (and Rhonda) Dalton of Doniphan and Doug and (Lisa) Dalton of Independence, Missouri, two granddaughters, Camille Dalton and Allison Dalton and two step-grandchildren, Kyle Swan and Jamie Swan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Bill Sybert. Visitation will be held Monday evening, August 17, 2009, from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Tuesday morning, August 18, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Kevin McAnulty officiating. Burial will follow in the Amity Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ripley County Crisis Shelter in Doniphan.
