Clara Margaret Walker

Clara Margaret Walker, 85, of New Florence died Monday, April 3, 2006 at New Florence Nursing Care. Mrs. Walker was born January 15, 1921 in Ripley County, to the late Oscar & Ruth (Shelton) Payne. She retired from Lever Brothers in 1979, after 19 years. A member of the Christian Church. She moved to St. Charles, where she lived until 2002. Her hobby was buying collectables; her favorites were Hummel figurines. She also loved to fish. She could sit all day without getting a single bite. She enjoyed music. In our younger years we remember hearing Frankie Lane playing in the house most of the time. She loved animals, almost always having a dog and bird. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Kuhlmann of Highhill, MO; two sons, Marcus Walker of Chino Valley, AZ and Joe Walker of Orange Park, FL; and seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her parents, and one step-sister, Doris Curtis.
