Noble E. Shepherd, 86, of Grandin died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Ripley County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Shepherd was born April 14, 1919 in Naylor. He was a former resident of Rockford, Ill. He was a member of the Independent Assembly of God where he was a minister. He Established eight churches in the mid-west. His life was the church. HE is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II and enjoyed his garden. On November 8, 1976, he married Sondra I. (Pavey) Shepherd in Rockford, Ill. She survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Marcell Easterline and Husband, Danny of Goshen, Ind., Doris Pile and husband, Tom of Bellingham, Mass., Sheila Shepherd of Rockford, Ill. and Tina Whittom and husband, Norman, of Doniphan; one son, Dwight Shepherd and wife, Connie, of Rockford, Ill.; and 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are one daughter, Gertrude Rose; three sisters, Arnet Henderson, Edna Gardner and Margrett Shepherd; and parents, Newton and Emma Childress Shepherd.
