Thomas Ervin Foster, 84, of Doniphan died Monday, June 29, 2009 at the Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan. Mr. Foster was born May 5, 1925, in Brockett, AR to the late Thomas & Rosie (Uzzell) Foster.
Mr. Foster was a machinist for an agriculture company. Mr. Foster was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the VFW post # 3484. He was a member of the Oak Ridge Church of God. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On May 2, 1975, he married Emma Whitwell in Viburnum MO. She survives.
Also surviving is two sons, Lee Foster of Scott City, MO & James Smith of Doniphan; eight daughters Debra Evans of Piedmont, Terrie Tarmon of Reno, AR, Jenny Robinson of Dallas TX, Demaris Givins of Piedmont, Jeanette Lambert of Doniphan, Geneva Miller of Doniphan, Sarah Fraley of Doniphan and Christine McKnight of Murray, KY; two sisters Edith Adams of Cape Girardeau, MO & Mildred Hitt of Sebring FL; one brother James Foster of Stillman Valley IL; 25 grandchildren & 33 great-grandchildren, two very good friends Hank Greives of Fairdealing and Bill Blackwell of Thomas GA.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Thursday July 2, 2009 at 1 PM. Burial will be in the Foster Cemetery.
