Obituary of Terry Phillips

Terry Orville Phillips, 60, lifelong resident of Grandin, Missouri, died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at his residence. Mr. Phillips, son of the late Orville and Flossie (Huddleston) Phillips, was born March 22, 1949, in Grandin. He was employed as a factory worker at L.A. Darling in Corning, Arkansas. Mr. Phillips enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers, and most of all, being with his grandchildren. He had been a member of the East Carter County School Board. On August 5, 1978, he was married to Jody Allen at Good Hope Church in Grandin. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Kara Renee Bond and her husband, Darrick, of Doniphan and Russell Allen Phillips and his wife, Michelle, of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Sue Tipton, of Grandin; two brothers, Darrel Phillips and his wife, Pat, of Cuba, Missouri, and Ernie Phillips and his wife, Jean, of Grandin; four grandchildren, Seth Phillips, Samuel Phillips, Kaydyn Bond and Kiernyn Bond; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Terry Wayne Phillips. Visitation for Mr. Phillips will be Wednesday evening, April 1, 2009, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 2, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother William McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery.
