Orbra Henry Griffin, a lifelong resident of Ripley County, passed from this life Monday morning, March 16, 2009. He was born may 27, 1926 in the Plunk community in Doniphan, MO to the late Jessie and Lizzie Day Griffin and was the youngest of seven children. He served in the US Army from 1950-1952 and retired from MODOT in 1988 after working 35 years as a crew leader. He was a member of the Doniphan Church of Christ and served as an elder for many years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching wildlife. He was married to Ramona Fay Green on December 26, 1950. He is survived by his wife Ramona, three daughters, Virginia Freeman and Ray, Kathy Joplin and Lyndal, Joyce Gething and Grant, one son Ronnie Griffin and Rachel, 7 grandchildren, Mark Freeman, Bryan Freeman, Kelly Martin, Jonathan Lewis, Candace Griffin, Caleb Griffin, and Jacob Gething, six great-grandchildren, Reigh Ann Freeman, Harli Martin, Landy Martin, Maci Freeman, and Kali Freeman, and one sister Artie Robinson. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharolyn Fay Griffin. His parents, two sisters, Verna Agin & Stella Rush, & three brothers Ezra Griffin, Chester Griffin, and Elza Griffin. Visitation will be Wednesday March 18, 2009 from 4-7pm at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Thursday March 19 at 3:30 pm at the Doniphan Church of Christ.
