Obituary of Elizabeth (Liz) Hall

Elizabeth Ann Walker (Liz) Hall was born at Wardell, Missouri on May 21, 1938. She passed away at the Ripley County Memorial Hospital on Saturday afternoon, March 14, 2009. Liz was married in 1960 at her girlhood church in Wardell to Jim Hall of Doniphan. They had one daughter, Diane Hall of Kansas City. They both survive to mourn her passing. Liz graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1960 with a teaching degree, and taught until 1992 in the Wardell, Grandin, St. Louis and Doniphan Schools. Most of her teaching career was as a second grade teacher in Doniphan. She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Walker; her mother, Lula Crabtree Walker, and her only sister, Mary Louise Caraway. Liz enjoyed travel, playing bridge with her friends, and eating out. She was very involved in her church, the United Methodist Church of Doniphan. She also received great pleasure in visiting with former students and friends, both old friends and those she just met for the first time. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M., Monday, March 16 at the Edwards Funeral Home of Doniphan. The funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, March 17 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Liz's pastor, Kent Wilfong and brother Griff Walker, Liz's cousin. Burial will be in the Doniphan Cemetery.
