Obituary of Patrick O'Neill

Patrick Eugene "Pat" O'Neill, 82, of Fairdealing, Missouri, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan. Mr. O'Neill, son of the late Thomas and Josie (Carneal) O'Neill, was born April 10, 1926, in Ripley County, Missouri. He was a sawmiller in the timber industry and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during World War II. A lifelong resident of Ripley County, he was a member of the Logan Creek General Baptist Church and the local V.F.W. Post 3485. Mr. O'Neill enjoyed riding horses and attending horse shows and was a member of the Ripley County Saddle Club, Cypress Creek Saddle Club and the Maynard Saddle Club On November 2, 1946, he was married to Lois Davis in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on May 28, 1999. Mr. O'Neill is survived by one son, Keith O'Neill, and his wife, Terida, of Fairdealing; five grandchildren, Kim Stewart, Karen Fish, Barbie Rogers and her husband, Jeff, Keithie O'Neill and Philip O'Neill, all of Fairdealing; and five great-grandchildren, Amanda Stewart of Harviell, Zacharia Crumley, Ryan Fish, Branden Reagan and Mason Rogers, all of Fairdealing. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, three children, Patsy O'Neill Price, Tom O'Neill and Phillip O'Neill, two sisters, Bridget Dry and Thelma Pepmiller, one brother, Tom O'Neill, and two grandchildren, Marcie O'Neill and Tomie O'Neill. Visitation will be Sunday evening, March 15, 2009, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Jerry Crowley and Brother Curtis Crowley officiating. Burial will follow in the Doniphan City Cemetery.
