Sarah Kilen Patterson, 86, of Doniphan died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Patterson was born August 5, 1922 at Hartzell, MO to the late Luther Abraham & Mary Ann (Walker) Palmer. She attended Success Pentecostal Church, West Point Pentecostal Church, & Oglesville Baptist Church at various points in her life. Mrs. Patterson was a housewife who enjoyed her family, sewing, quilting, and flowers. On October 6, 1939, she married Virgil Calvin Patterson in New Madrid County, MO. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1987. Survivors include four sons, Gerald Patterson of Fayetteville, AR, Lonnie Patterson of Lebanon, MO, & Micky Patterson & Vernon Patterson both of Doniphan; five sisters Jewell Hardin of Poplar Bluff, Betty Breece of Datto AR, Mary Ann Hanners of Piedmont, Jerrie Keene of Doniphan and Nancy Griffin of Qulin. 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Melissa Rosetta Bradley & Mary Delcinie Palmer; two brothers Jacob Harold Palmer & Theodore Palmer. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Saturday March 7, 2009 at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Sunday March 8, 2009 at Edwards Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Maham & Bro. C. Carr officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
