Obituary of Jessie Ollar

Jessie I. Ollar, 94, of Ripley County, Missouri, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was born January 8, 1917, at Poca Hollow in Carter County, Missouri, to the late Carl and Agnes (Smith) Burrows. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Ollar was a member of the Fremont Baptist Church and on special occasions attended Handy Church. She loved reading, gardening, quilting, cooking and providing for her family. She was married to William Lee Ollar on May 10, 1942, at Bennett, Missouri. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Lee; one son, Ken (Nancy) Ollar of Villa Ridge, Missouri; one daughter, Barbara (Terry) Muse of Doniphan; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Alan, four brothers, Bill Burrows, Sam Burrows, John Burrows, and Gentry Burrows and one sister, Marianne Riggins. Visitation will be Monday, May 23, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Tuesday morning, May 2, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brother Bob Featherston officiating. Burial will be in Hufstedler Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gideon International.
