Daisy Mae Keene, 82, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mrs. Keene, daughter of the late Dallas and Daisy D. (Elzy) Runion, was born October 5, 1926, in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Keene attended the Bibleway Church where she taught a Sunday School class and enjoyed making dolls and dreamcatchers.
On March 7, 1946, she was married to James "Jim" Keene in Alton, Illinois. He survives.
Also surviving are four sons; Mark Keene of St. Louis, Missouri, Dale M. Keene of Republic, Missouri, Clyde Keene of Bourbon, Missouri, and Paul Keene of Doniphan; four brothers, Carl Runion of Doniphan, Donald R. Runion of Worden, Illlinois, Lee A. Runion of Meadow Brook, Illinois, and Everett Runion of Roxana, Illinois; nineteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Margie Steward, Mary Fry and Janice Wiser.
Visitation for Mrs. Keene will be Thursday evening, February 26, 2009, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Friday morning, February 27, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home chapel with Brothers J. Johnson and Carlos Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Stephen Cemetery.
