Obituary of Herbert Harris

Herbert Harris, 91, of Gatewood, Missouri, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mr. Harris was born January 1, 1918, in Randolph County, Arkansas, to the late Ruff and Addie (McArath) Harris. He was a self-employed farmer. Mr. Harris enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Baptist Church. He was married to Pansy Elizabeth Tucker on June 5, 1945, in Randolph County, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on February 4, 1996. He later married Jewell Tucker at Calm, Missouri, and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Keith (and Anna) Harris and one sister, Wilma Hudson, of Gatewood. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Hester Hopkins. Visitation will be Saturday evening, February 21, 2009, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, February 22, 2009, at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ben Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Tucker Cemetery.
