Helen Arleen Kane, 85, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Saturday, February 14, 2009, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mrs. Kane, daughter of the late Lewis S. "Skeeter" and Cora (Anthony) Oatis, was born November 6, 1923, in Redfield, Iowa. She retired as an office supervisor with the Iowa Power and Light and enjoyed quilting, gardening and flowers. Mrs. Kane was of the Methodist faith.
On June 24, 1972, she was married to Paul C. Kane in Adel, Iowa. He survives.
Also surviving are three step-children; Tony Kane of Doniphan, Paula Capps of Lakeport, California, and John Kane of Strafford, Missouri; two step-grandsons, Adam and Triston Kane; two step great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters; Golda Hooper, Gail Gazanio and Dorothy and Delores Oatis.
Visitation will begin Friday, February 20, 2009, at noon at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kay Hooper officiating.
Burial will follow in the Towles Cemetery.
