Longtime Gatewood resident Bill Aronson died August 6, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was born September 1, 1951 in Chicago Illinois to the late Alvin and Harriette Kuhn Aronson. Bill was an artist and entrepreneur. He was a jeweler and photographer as well as a plantsman of the highest caliber. He and his wife Deb operated Wolf Mountain farm for many years, providing plants for gardeners around Missouri and beyond. Bill was also active in his community, helping found the Gatewood Volunteer Fire Department. He took a keen interest in politics and helped register voters and provided rides to the polls. Bill faced any challenge with a strong sense of determination. He was well read and highly opinionated and enjoyed lively conversations on any topic. He and his family attended Warm Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Bill married Debra Herbert in 1982 and she survives. Their children, Elizabeth Aronson of Columbia MO and Alvin Aronson of Los Angeles CA also survive. He also leaves 3 sisters, Shirl Aronson of Olympia, WA; Ginny Horstman of San Diego, CA; Gloria Kazimir Griebahn of Des Plaines, IL; and one brother, Bob Aronson of Santa Barbara CA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Marsha Aronson. Visitation for Bill Aronson will be held Thursday evening, August 13, 2015 from 5-7 P.M. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. A Memorial service will be held at 7 P.M. Thursday evening with Pastor Wayne Cloven officiating.
