Lloyd Crook Obituary

Lloyd Alvin Crook, 82, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Monday, March 31, 2008, at his residence.



Mr. Crook was born July 10, 1925, in Doniphan, Missouri. He retired in 1987 from ADM in Granite City, Illinois. Mr. Crook served in World War II with the U S. Army 13th Airborne Division and fought in the battle of Normandy. He was a lifetime member of the Doniphan VFW Post #3485 and was a member and song leader of the Belleview Baptist Church. Mr. Crook enjoyed working with crafts and loved music.



On August 23, 1947, he married Roberta Lawhon in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She survives.



Also surviving are two sons; Frank Crook of Worden, Illinois, and Tim Crook of Corning, Arkansas; and one daughter, Sandra Crook Beckner of Granite City, Illinois. Eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren also survive.



Mr. Crook was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Crook and Laura Trusty Crook and four brothers, Clarence Crook, Chester Crook, Herschel Crook and Orville Crook.



Visitation will be Wednesday, April 2, 2008, from 5-8 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 3, at 10 AM at the funeral home chapel with the Brother Lynn Hamm officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
