Adrian Venable, 89, of Nixa, Missouri, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014. He was born October 10, 1924, in Poynor, Missouri, the son of Hulen and Magnolia (Christian) Venable. On July 26, 1942, he married Bertha Jane Barks. Adrian served his country in the U. S. Army Air Force during World War II. He worked as a truck driver for petroleum and lumber companies. Adrian loved farming and cattle and still owned a farm in Southeast Missouri. His favorite television shows were westerns and he liked country and old gospel music. Adrian had a fun-loving and dry sense of humor. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, attending all of their events and activities. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nixa in earlier years, and he was a current member of Amity Missionary Baptist Church of Doniphan, Missouri. Survivors include: two daughters, Judy Indermuehle and husband Larry of Sugar Land, Texas, and Tammie Knight and husband Dan of Nixa; two sisters, Barbara Spell and Betty Smith, both of Memphis; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Adrian was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Bertha Venable; his second wife of six years, Lela Venable; his brother, Guy Venable; and two sisters, Wanda and Kay. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, August 9, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Poynor Cemetery in Poyner, Missouri.
