Edward "Ed" Hagan, Doniphan, MO, passed away April 11, 2014 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hagan was born September 8, 1927 in the Briar Community. He attended Doniphan schools and had been a resident of Ripley Co. most of his life. Mr. Hagan was an US Army veteran serving at the conclusion of World War II. On November 13, 1948, Mr. Hagan married Mavis Anglin who preceded him in death on April 25, 1999. On November 21, 2001, he married Pearl Rush, who survives. Also, surviving are brothers, Wayne Hagan of Springdale, AR and Ronnie Hagan of Seaford, Delaware and sisters, Ona Elkins and Fern Murdock , both of Doniphan. Mr. Hagan was preceded in death by his parents Malinda (Rossen) and Robert Hagan, his wife, Mavis, sister, Muriel (Hagan) Elkins, and brother Vernon (Bud) Hagan. Mr. Hagan enjoyed hunting and fishing but his passion was playing the guitar. Mr. Hagan was a member of Buzzard Run Bluegrass Band. He and Pearl enjoyed traveling much of southern Missouri playing at festivals, fairs, nursing homes, and charity events. Visitation for Mr. Hagan will be Monday, April 14th from 5-8 pm at Edwards Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow Tuesday April 15 at 11 AM at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Briar.
