Michael Barton Payne, Jr., 24, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, died Saturday, January 4, 2014, in Butler County.
Mr. Payne, son of the late Michael Barton Payne, Sr, and Kayla (Goins) Presler, was born February 7, 1989, in Poplar Bluff. He had served in the U. S. Army in both Iraq and Germany. Mr. Barton loved playing the guitar, music, writing poems and he especially enjoyed martial arts and held a black-belt degree. He was very outgoing and loved to be around people. Michael had lived in Doniphan most of his life.
Surviving are his daughter, Nicole Payne of Poplar Bluff; his mother, Kayle Presler of Boca Raton, Florida, and his grandparents, Ronnie Goins of Broseley, Missouri, Carl and Shirley Payne of Doniphan and Brenda Pollack of Paragould, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Barton Payne, Sr.
A funeral service with full military honors will be held Saturday morning, January 11, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Fellowship Southern Baptist Church in Harviell, Missouri.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Jr.
