Obituary of Gerald Massey

Gerald Robert Massey, 63, life-long resident of Gatewood, Missouri, died January 1, 2014, at the Southeast Health of Ripley County in Doniphan. Mr. Massey, son of Darmon and Rosella (Gimlin) Massey, was born September 5, 1950 in Old Burr, Missouri. He was self-employed in timber. Mr. Massey enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking care of his farm and cattle. He especially loved being with his grandchildren. On July 19, 1969, he was married to Wanda Kathryn "Kathy" Fulfer in Springdale, Arkansas, and she survives. Also surviving are three children: Gerald Massey, Jr., and Becky (and Brian) Hinton, both of Gatewood, and Sarah (and John) Price of Ravenden, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Ashley (and Kevin) Price, Jordon (and Jessie) Frasier, Hunter Price, Garett Massey, Hailey Price and Dalton Royer; two great-grandchildren, Mason Price and Danilynn Frasier; four sisters, Barbara Higgins of Warm Springs, Arkansas, Carolen Hamlett and Lou Ellen Hutton, both of Gatewood, and Mary Oakley of Perry, Oklahoma; and seven brothers, Jimmy Massey and Rickey Massey, both of Doniphan, and Ronnie Massey, Henry Massey, Cecil Massey, Johnny Massey and Henry Gale Brown, all of Gatewood. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Patricia Copher, three brothers, Lyndall Massey, Ronald Massey and Donald Massey and one daughter-in-law, Kari Massey. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 3:45 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Warm Springs Cemetery in Warm Springs, Arkansas.
