Ella Belle Bodkin, 86, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Mrs. Bodkin, daughter of Charlie and Mary (Warren) Tillman, was born February 11, 1927, in Doniphan. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Bodkin enjoyed cooking and attended First Christian Church.
On May 24, 1947, she was married to Millard "Dick" Bodkin in Pocahontas, Arkansas. After 65 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on October 19, 2012.
Surviving are three sons: Jim Bodkin of Doniphan, Tommy Bodkin of Granite City, Illinois, and David Bodkin of Madison, Illinois; two daughters, Brenda Sveda of Granite City and Kim Colburn of Doniphan; one sister, Charlene Borth of Doniphan; three brothers, Ervon Tillman, John Tillman and Leamon Tillman, all of Doniphan; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Deborah Bodkin, one grandson, Vincent Bodkin, two sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening, October 26, 2013, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home chapel in Doniphan. The funeral service will take place Sunday afternoon, October 27, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home with Brother John Harwell officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
