Please share a memory of Wallace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wallace Franklin Knapp, age 80, of Grandin, Missouri, passed away October 20, 2013. Wallace was born September 6, 1933, at Prim, Arkansas, to Ralph B. Knapp and Nora "Fay" (Sloan) Knapp, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Ralph B. (Jr.), Loy E., Claude H., and Fred S. Knapp; one sister, Winnie Fay Fee; and half-brother, J. W. "Bill" Lewellen. He is survived by one brother, Oliver Ray Knapp, of Erwin, Tennessee; also six nieces, six nephews and their children; many cousins; and friends around Grandin, especially Jody Phillips and her crew at Heads Up Beauty Salon. Wallace was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the army's heavy artillery unit. He was also a former Mayor of Grandin, Missouri, and was somewhat proud that Grandin's water and sewage utilities were completed during his tenure as Mayor. He took special pride in Grandin's Volunteer Fire Department and their competence as first responders. He also had special pride in Grandin's Park, where, in later years, he would pick up trash in the park on a near daily basis to insure the park stayed neat and clean. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held for Wallace at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Doniphan, Missouri, on Saturday, November 2, 2013, for family and friends from 1 - 2:30 p.m.
