Billy Joe McGonigal, 66 year old resident of Poplar Bluff, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Mr. McGonigal was born September 29, 1946 in Doniphan, MO. Bill was a Funeral Director with the Edwards Funeral home for over twenty years, then became a foreman for a plumbing company, and had served 6 years with the Missouri National Guard. He was also a member of the Poplar Bluff American Legion.
On August 31, 1997 he was married to Judy Mottram, in Las Vegas. She survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Deanna Riley of Corpus Christi, TX; three step-daughters, Debbie (Pete) Davis of Doniphan; Helen (Keith) Smith of Eminence, MO; Janet (Richard) Gaines of Poplar Bluff, MO; one step-son, James (Lori) Mottram of Watertown, TN; one sister, Virginia McGonigal of Poplar Bluff, MO; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. McGonigal will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bob Featherston officiating. Visiting will be held Sunday evening from 5-8. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
