Lula Bell Holland, 71, of Doniphan, Missouri, died Saturday morning, January 19, 2013, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mrs. Holland, daughter of the late Elmer and Clara (Moore) Harkness, was born November 16, 1941, in Scott City, Kansas. She had previously worked at Vitronic Manufacturing in Doniphan and later retired from Gates Rubber Company in Poplar Bluff after 24 years of service. Mrs. Holland enjoyed reading, word puzzles, hummingbirds, volunteering at the Bread Shed and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Pilgrim's Rest Church. She was first married to Merle Geyer on November 24, 1967. She married Carl Holland on April 16, 1976, in Grandview, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1983. Mrs. Holland is survived by one daughter, Traci Moore of Fairdealing, Missouri; three step-children, Bill Holland, Dennis Holland and Audrea Beeler, all of Joplin, Missouri; one sister, Rita Perry of Leoti, Kansas; four brothers, Charles Harkness of Oak Grove, Missouri, Jerry Harkness of Marienthal, Kansas, and Gene Harkness and Tony Harkness, both of Leoti, Kansas; and three grandchildren, Megan, Aaron and Emily Stonecipher and 5 step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Holland will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Pilgrim's Rest Church in Fairdealing. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Brother Ronnie Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim's Rest Church.
