Obituary of Johnnie Franklin Baker

Johnnie Franklin Baker, 87-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born December 16, 1936, in Biggers, AR, to the late Mack and Eva (Snodgrass) Baker.

 

Johnnie had been a Silk Screen Supervisor at Vitronic and attended the Presbyterian Church. He liked to spend time relaxing in the woods on a hunting trip or enjoying the river and fishing. He also liked to go scrapping, finding the value in junk. Johnnie had served in the United States Navy.

 

On September 8, 1961, Johnnie married Veta Clark in Doniphan, and she survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Susan Marie Baker of Castle Rock, CO and Carol Lea Baker (Beverly Tidwell) of Poplar Bluff, MO; a granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters.

 

Johnnie was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

 

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 15, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Mark Montgomery will officiate, and burial will be in Hunt-White Memorial Gardens.
