Obituary of Eva Jean Murray Wright

Eva Jean Murray Wright, age 95, of Doniphan MO, passed away October 30, 2023, in the Colonial Assisted Living Home from natural causes.

Eva Jean was born February 23,1928, in Salem MO, to Elvis and Maude Murray (McGee). She was a lifelong resident of Doniphan and graduated from high school in Doniphan. After graduation she worked at the Wright Leather factory and Vitronic Inc. until her retirement. She married Lester Wright in May 2001. Eva Jean was a long-time member of the First Christian Church. She is leaving behind the legacy of friends and relationships that she cultivated over her many years in Doniphan.

Eva Jean is survived by nephew Gary (Karen) Murray of O’Fallon MO, and nieces Karen (Bob) Kelly of Fairland OK, Brenda (Ted) Richardson of Nampa ID, and Barbara (Gary) Ferraro of Arlington TX. The Murray Family would also like to recognize the Wright Family which includes Lester’s children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, and nephews for the many years of love and friendship.

Eva Jean was preceded in death by her husband Lester Wright, father Elvis Murray, mother Maude Murray (McGee), and brothers Howard William Murray and Willard Murray.

Thank you very much to all her caregivers and friends who assisted Eva Jean over the years and also brought treats. Special thank you to the many people at Colonial Assisted Living Home in Doniphan for the care that she received.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday November 2, 2023, at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan MO. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Doniphan First Christian Church.
