Obituary of Dolores M. Hawks
Dolores M. Hawks, 80-year-old resident of Doniphan, MO, departed this life Monday, October 23, 2023. She was born November 28, 1942, in South Bend, IN to the late Emery and Elizabeth (Nemath) Desich.
The ultimate homemaker, wife, and mother, Dolores enjoyed gardening, canning the rewards of her work in the garden, and cooking. She was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Benedict Catholic Church.
On February 18, 1963, Dolores married John Travis Hawks in Arkansas. He preceded her in death on October 9, 2009. She was also preceded by a son, Bryan Hawks; sisters, Annie Odom and Betty House; and a brother, Dutch Desich.
Surviving are her children, John (Cheryl) Hawks and Rodney (Rosina) Hawks, all of Doniphan; a sister Mary Lou Zurowski of Huntsville, AL; brothers, George Desich of Lizton, IN and Richard Desich of Doniphan; as well as 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Church on Thursday, October 26, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m., with the funeral mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
