Obituary of Jerry Leeland Wood, II

Jerry Leland Wood, II, age 52, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at his home in Fairdealing, MO. Jerry was born June 9, 1971, in Doniphan, MO, to the late Jerry and Linda (Camper) Wood.

 

Over the years Jerry’s skill and knowledge of small engines and auto parts offered him the opportunity to work at City Auto Parts, Bob’s Small Engines, Payne’s Auto, and Current River Marine in Doniphan. He had also been employed at Yamaha Shop and Bluff Honda in Poplar Bluff. For over a decade, Jerry had worked as an over-the-road truck driver and had worked for some time at Darlings. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was of the Baptist faith.

 

On December 16, 1990, Jerry married Tonya Morton in Doniphan. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Devon (Ray) Sandhouse of Doniphan, Ashley Wood of Poplar Bluff, MO, Jaclyn (Jimmie) Foster of Fairdealing, and Jerry Wood, III, also of Fairdealing; and four grandchildren, Cadence Congdon, Aidric Congdon, and Raven Sandhouse, all of Doniphan and Eli Foster of Fairdealing along with many friends and other family member.

 

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by many uncles, aunts, cousins, and his grandparents.

 

The family will have a private memorial at a later date.
