Obituary of Sharon Kay Cullison

Sharon Kay Cullison, 80-year-old resident of Naylor, MO, departed this life Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, MO, with family by her side. She was born August 23, 1943, in Gatewood, MO, to the late Evert and Evelyn (Skipper) Cullison.

Sharon had worked for family services in St. Louis, retiring after over 30 years of service, before her move to Naylor to be near her family. She was of the Church of God faith and attended the First Church of God in Poplar Bluff. Although Sharon had no children of her own, she was adored by her nieces and nephews who were as dear to her as she was to them. Her fluent verbiage and sharp mind made it quite a challenge when she would mention playing Rook or Scrabble and began getting out games. Sharon loved reading, working crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy.

Surviving is a sister, Gail (Don) Bullington; a brother, Jerry (Diane) Cullison; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Bell, all of Naylor; as well as many nieces and nephews and best friends, Andrea Chapman and Bonnie Lawson.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pam and Dennis Bell and Patricia and Tomey Hubbard.

Visitation will be held in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, October 7, 2023, beginning at noon with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Brother Jim Davis will be officiating, and burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
