Obituary of Judy Sharon Dilbeck

Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judy Sharon Dilbeck, 80, of Doniphan, Missouri, departed from her life on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Ms. Judy, daughter of Hanford “Hank” and Lois (Hunt) Hastings, was born on January 7, 1943, in Doniphan, Missouri. She retired after 47 hardworking years as a factory worker with Vitronics Manufacturing. Ms. Judy loved to cook, have a houseful of family, and a freezer full of ice-cream. Within Judy’s life, she took on many roles. She dedicated her life to caring and loving for every person she crossed paths with. Her compassion for helping others and putting them before herself was unexplainable. She went out of her way to make sure everyone was loved, cared for, hugged, and never hungry. She was a friend, a mother, and a “Grandma Judy” to many. Her heart and her home were open to everyone. Her smile radiated with happiness and her laugh was contagious. To know her was to love her.

On September 17, 1960, she was married to Monte Bedford “Junior” Dilbeck in Ripley County, Missouri.

Surviving are two children: Mechelle Johnson and (David Beardsley), and Djuana and (Gerald) Taylor, all of Doniphan; one sister, Jan Crews of Washington, Illinois; two brothers, Jack “Ronny” Hastings of Peoria, Illinois and Dwight and (Barbara) Hastings of Doniphan; six grandchildren, Monique and (Traviss) Conn, Nickolett Johnson, Levi and (Katelynn) Taylor, Zachary and (Emily) Taylor, Paul Lowden and (Melissa Dornin), and Heath and (Jessica) Casteel; sixteen great-grandchildren, Kirsten and (Alex) Littrell, Logen Conn, Kaedyn Harp, P.J., Khyra and Khyzer Lowden, Bentley and Layton Bass, Makenzie, Makaylah, Makennah, and Makynlee Taylor, Bryce Creutz, and Makenzie, Jaylene, and Heath Jr. Casteel.

She was preceded in her death by her husband, Monte Bedford “Junior” Dilbeck, her son, Monte Zahn Dilbeck, her parents, Hanford “Hank” and Lois Hastings, and two brothers, Clifford and Norman Hastings.
